The first bottle we designed for Charleston Distilling Co. was the Carolina Reaper, a pepper-infused vodka. We meticulously studied the color and texture of the peppers, which are a twisted and gnarly breed with a shiny, bumpy texture, like a polished gourd. The color is a beautiful mix of cherry and orange. Inspired by the peppers' eerie texture and color, we envisioned a skull and a sickle next to them. This led us to include a face and hood in our design. We created a unique, memorable look for the spicy vodka, that also fit within the distillery's suite of products.
Following the resounding success of the Reaper Vodka label, which captured hearts and international design awards, HOOK continued its creative journey with Charleston Distilling Co. We designed a range of labels for their flagship liquors, each with its own unique story. To further amplify the brand's reach, we launched an out-of-home campaign featuring truck wraps, merchandise, and airport charging table ads.
